truth

"All truth passes through three stages.

First, it is ridiculed.
Second, it is violently opposed.
Third, it is accepted as being self-evident."

--Arthur Schopenhauer, German philosopher (1788-1860)

  1. Great. I don't know if this happens with all truths. Seems to happen with all great truths and great people.

Just discovered a parsha post comment from you. Thanks.

  2. I don't necessarily believe it, but it struck me, so I threw it up there. Truth, like religion, seems pretty personal (as well as universal, kind of).

  3. Applies mainly to revolutionary truths - like heliocentricity. Hard to say what truth is outside of science.
